Google Pixel 7a with Tensor G2 Chipset and 90Hz OLED Display Launched in India

Google Pixel 7a has been launched at the company’s I/O 2023 developer event. It is the successor to the Google Pixel 6a which was released last year. Google also announced two other devices, the Pixel Tablet, and a new Pixel Fold. The Pixel 7a offers a Tansor G2 chipset and a 64MP primary sensor on the back. Moreover, it has an IP67 rating and an under-display fingerprint sensor.

Google Pixel 7a Price in India, and Availability

The smartphone comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage and it will go on sale via Flipkart from May 11. The Pixel 7a has been priced at Rs. 43,999. Furthermore, if you purchase the device through HDFC credit and debit cards, the company offers you a discount of Rs. 4,000. However, the offer is valid from May 11 2023 to May 16 2023.

Google Pixel 7a is available in three color options, i.e. Charcoal, Sea, and Snow.

The smartphone features a 6.1-inch full-HD+OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, the same refresh rate has been offered in the Pixel 7. However, the Pixel 7a comes with a 6.3-inch display. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Moreover, it gets an under-display fingerprint sensor. Google Pixel 7a has a plastic back panel whereas the frame is made by metal. Coming to the protection, it offers IP67-rated certification for dust and water resistance.

Another major improvement as compared to its predecessor is Tensor G2 SoC. It also comes with a Titan M2 security chip. The latest Google device has 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 inbuilt storage. The dual-SIM supporting handset has one physical nanoSIM and one eSIM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.3, NFC, GPS, 5G, and 4G VoLTE.

In the photography department, the Pixel 7a sports a dual-camera setup on the back with a 64MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation, and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. The back camera can record 5k video recording at up to 60fps. Upfront, the handset offers a 13MP front-facing camera.

The Pixel 7a is equipped with a 4,385mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. The phone also supports wireless charging, also at 18W. There’s a USB Type-C (3.2 Gen 2) port at the bottom. Moving to the software, it runs on Android 13 Operating System and the company promises to provide 5 years of security updates.
