Sharp Aquos R6 with 240Hz Display and a huge 1-inch Camera Sensor Launched

Have you ever seen a one-inch camera sensor on smartphones? if no so now this article is especially for you. Today, the Japanese-based smartphone manufacturer “Sharp” has unveiled a new flagship device in Japan, called Sharp Aquos R6. The major key attraction feature of the handset is a huge 1-inch Leica’s sensor which is the biggest camera sensor available in mobile phones ever. Other high-end features are Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 SoC and 240Hz display.

Let’s talk about its specs and features in detail, it comes with a 6.6-inch WUXGA + Pro IGZO OLED display with a resolution of 1,260 x 2730 pixels and a 240Hz refresh rate. The display has 2000nits and a 20,000,000:1 contrast rate. Under the hood, the Sharp Aquos R6 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC with Adreno 660 GPU. The phone comes in 12GB RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

The R6 runs on Android 11 and also comes with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor that supports two finger unlocking feature. In terms of camera, the handset sports a single one-inch camera on the backside that offers a 20MP sensor with an F1.9 lens. On the front, there is a 12MP selfie camera embedded into a hole punch on the front. Connectivity options are 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, USB Type-C port, and NFC.

The Sharp Aquos R6 is backed by a 5,000mAh battery that supports Intelligent Charge 2.0 technology. It also has IPX8 certification for water and dust resistance. It is available in two color variants, i.e. Black and white. So far, there is no information on pricing and availability details.
