Vivo announced the Vivo Y500 in China yesterday. The latest Y-series smartphone features a massive 8,200mAh battery and is certified for IP68/IP69 ratings. Other notable interesting features of the device are an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7300 4nm processor, up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and a 50MP dual rear camera unit.
Vivo Y500 Price
The price of the device in China starts at CNY 1,399 (approximately USD 196 / Rs. 17,300) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage base model, while the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model is priced at CNY 1,599 (approximately USD 224 / Rs. 19,775). Moving up, the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage option comes in at CNY 1,799 (approximately USD 252 / Rs. 22,250), and the top-end 12GB RAM + 512GB storage model is priced at CNY 1,999 (approximately USD 280 / Rs. 24,725).
The Vivo Y500 is available in three color options, i.e. Glacier Blue, Dragon Crystal Purple and Black. Now, it is available to order and will go on sale in China starting September 5th.
As for specs and features, the dual-SIM supporting Vivo Y500 ships with Android 15 with OriginOS 15 on the top. Talking about display, it features a 6.77-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 2392 x 1080 pixels resolution. It also carries a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. Moreover, there’s an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.

On the processor front, the phone is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7300 4nm chipset, clubbed with Mali G615 GPU. The device comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. In the photography department, the Y500 sports a dual camera setup on the back that houses a 50MP main camera sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.
For selfies and video calling, it has an 8MP front sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. Moving to the security features, there’s an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. The device also gets an IP69+ rating for water and dust resistance. Vivo Y500 supports stereo speakers and USB Type-C audio connectivity.
