The Redmi 17C 5G has officially made its debut in India, becoming the latest budget smartphone from Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi. The new model comes with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, a 6.9-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 50MP rear camera. The smartphone is available in three colour options and has an IP64 rating for water and dust resistance.
Redmi 17C 5G Price in India and Availability
The device has been priced in India at Rs. 20,999 for the base 4GB RAM with 128GB internal storage model. The higher-end (6GB RAM + 128GB storage) model carries a price tag of Rs. 22,999. The Redmi 17C comes in two colour options, i.e. Coffee Brew, Dark Night, and Purple Dawn. It will go on sale in India on October 7 via Amazon.in and the Xiaomi online store.
As for the specs, the handset features a 6.9-inch HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and up to a 120Hz refresh rate. It delivers up to a 240Hz touch sampling rate, 16.7 million colours, and 83 percent NTSC coverage. Furthermore, the screen has TÜV Rheinland certifications for Low Blue Light, Circadian Friendly, and Flicker Free. On the software front, the dual-SIM-supporting device ships with Android 16-based Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3.

In terms of processor, it comes with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, clocked at up to 2.4GHz and paired with Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The Redmi 17C 5G provides up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 onboard storage. The smartphone also supports virtual RAM expansion up to 6GB using external storage. The 17C 5G offers a microSD slot (up to 1TB).
For durability, the handset arrives with an IP64-rated certification for water and dust resistance. In the photography department, it sports a single 50MP camera on the back with an f/1.8 aperture, which is capable of recording videos at up to 1080p/30fps. On the front, the Redmi 17C brings an 8MP camera. It has Night Mode, Time-lapse Mode, Soft-light ring, Portrait Mode, and HDR Mode.
There’s a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. Other notable sensors are an ambient light sensor, an accelerometer, and an e-compass. The phone gets a 6,000mAh battery that supports 33W wired fast charging. As for dimensions, it measures 171.56 x 79.47 x 7.99mm and weighs about 211grams.
